I need some help on this plate that my father aquired while in New York in 1964. He cherished it to the point that no one was allowed to take it off the wall in his study.

It is made of brass, with the outside portion polished. On the back is a paper sticker with; SIL LA KOREAN SOUVENIR LTD. CO. SOUTH KOREA

I cannot find any information on this plate. Can anyone help me find any more information, and a possible value? Thank You for your help!

This link indicates that Sil La was an exhibitor in 1965, which isn't to say they weren't in the area in 1964: http://www.nywf64.com/trantrav05.html
My guess would be that your father was attached to the plate for the memories of the trip, rather than a sense that it was a high value item, as this type of item doesn't usually fetch a Great deal of money.
The sticker is the importer/wholesaler rather than the maker, so different items with this same sticker don't really give an indicator of what your item may be worth. (I saw several items online, all less than $70)

Thank you for the information! Were you able to find a photo of the same plate? If so would you be willing to share the site?

Thank for responding Breezie! I vaguely remember being there in NY. at the time. Do you remember anything particular that stands out?

I wasn't able to find any wall plaques attributed to this company (I expanded my search because the same frame could have been used with a different image) . Even if calling it a ("wall" with any of the following) plaque, plate, charger, tray, decoration, decor, art, hanging, ornament, etc. I could only find other decorative knick-knacks like ashtrays, trivets, candle holders, key chains, etc. with this company tag attached. There are a lot of the plates out there, largely made in England (clearly the Korean company noted the popularity of these at the time). They don't sell for much ($25 maybe, although the asking price is often higher). These tend to be a bit fancier, but I like the simple clean lines of yours, as I find the others a bit gaudy. Enjoy it! (and/or enjoy that your Dad enjoyed it)
