Went back to the back that has produced both an 1883 IH and the 3-Ringer CW bullet. DC and NoVA both had highs of over 100 degree air temperatures the last few days as I assume the rest of the country could attest to. Today was a "cool" 90.
How many of you have been MDing and keep getting a 1965 something whether it be a dime or a quarter? That was the story of today, I dug a '65 quarter then a '65 dime. Usually when this happens I use an expletive that I won't repeat here. You get the idea.
I kept plugging away hoping there was some silver to be found. Since the park had produced other items from the 19th century, why not some silver?
That question was soon answered as I caught a penny/dime reading at 4 inches that kept moving between. At first I thought it might be trash since the ACE250 kept bouncing around, but the tone was such that I figured it was something decent. It was alll about listening to my detector, not about what was being displayed. That was the key to this find.
Digging down into the extremely dry and hard as a rock ground, I soon saw what we all want to see that nice shiny disk laying there begging to be plucked. I was almost sitting vertically which explains the iffy signal. I rescued Mr. Roosevelt from the ground and quickly put said coin into my pocket.
I need Jeff or someone with digital camera skills to help me get better at posting pictures. I know the finds aren't much but that's what people want to see. PICTURES!
Thanks for reading and HH!
