1960 Cent with a a dime like appeal?

I fold this today going through some wheat cents
with my cousin. Can anyone tell me why it is like this?
its not plated it almost reminds me of a dime thats
the exact luster of this cent. any info on this would be good.

It looks like someone dipped in mercury.
 

no answer but a cool find none the less.......................HH
 

I would say some one rubbed mercury on it. My dad said in the old days they would do that to pennies to try to pass them off as dimes.
 

When I was in the photo lab industry about a hundred years ago I would silver plate pennies by soaking them in exhausted film fixer. Silver was drawn right to the penny.
