Nothing wrong with finding a wheat. I hunted 6 hours today and found one too........a 1956D. Given the old area I was hunting, it was a little disappointing but it's better than being skunked!

nice find.. I still remember finding my first wheat. I was stoked. keep at it and you will find a lot more great finds

If you find a wheat could be some silver around. I found 2 wheats this morning but not much else.

Can't find anything if you aren't out hunting.

Good Luck,

Pete

Cool find... Any find is better than no find at all... Keep swinging and digging, and happy hunting.. :icon_thumleft:

When you find your first Indian head penny or V nickel you'll really be stoked and hooked. Keep at it and the goodies will show up.

Nice. My wife found more wheats in a truck stop than I've found detecting but I'm still detecting. I see your Texas flag, where are you. I'm in Elysian Fields in east Texas

Hey crbub, I'm about 30 miles northeast of Houston in Porter. I'll have to check my map to see where your town is. :o)

You did good, go back there and listen close to that Bounty Hunter, it'll tell you about some silver lurking below.

Thanks...I hope to find some silver eventually!!

I just started to get into MD'ing this past year (but have wanted to for a very long time!) I've logged maybe 20 hours with my detector (a White's Coinmaster GT) and have found maybe about $5 in modern quarters, pennies and dimes. This past weekend I finally found my first old silver - a 1945 walking liberty half! It made all those hours of pulling Lincoln Cents out of the dirt well worth it! I am so much more motivated now to go back out again and find some more. Stick with it - it's definitely down there, just waiting to be plucked from the dirt!! Good luck!

Great big WAY TO GO. I also found a 1952 wheat penny today along with six clad quarters a dime a nickel and eight other pennies, one was a 1963 Canadian penny. A great find to be proud of, more will follow in the future now you know what to listen for.
