1957 Cent, Liberty "b" Looks smashed

Found this 1957 memorial cent and we'll you can see for yourself but I've never seen anything like it.

Looks like a small die chip. Not really any value unless it really is a 1957 memorial cent, they didn't make memorial cents until 1959!

The color of the inside of the bottom of the B is discolored and could be, simply, dirt/grime.
