So, first you need to know that I bought two coins off the Internet from a guy. He sold them to me for $25 he said they were “2 1955 poor man’s double die pennies.”

I am attaching pictures of them, and I would like someone to help me confirm if these really are 1955 poor mans double die pennies.

I am posting the first coin pictures in this post, then I will post again with the next coin.

These are the pictures of the first coin. Apologies for the picture quality, sometimes my electric magnifier does that.

The second coins pictures are coming in a different post on this thread.

The 55 DDO is from philly, not denver, and it is a really easy DDO to see with the naked eye. Those aren't 55 DDO's.

A Buick is a poor man's Cadillac!

I think you missed what I was asking. Are these poor man’s double dies, not actual double dies?

I’ve been looking at coins since the mid 1960s. Please excuse my ignorance. What is a “poor man’s double die”?

Here are pictures of the first ones date under a microscope. Just in case anyone is interested. This is the Denver mint penny. I don’t know why, The first picture rotated.

I’m a little busy now, so I’ll check what you guys say later.

On the "D", I think I see strike doubling, not a double die. I generally toss them back.
