A few weeks ago I found a real nice 1955 class ring. I found the year book online and ID'd the original owner, a man by the name of Larry Powers. After some research and calls I found out that the Mr. Powers was deceased, but continued to try and locate other family. I thought I reached a dead end, but a few nights ago I got calls from both the daughter and son of the original owner. His son lived in the area so tonight we met up and I returned the ring.

The experience was great. He was so appreciative and expressed how genuinely excited he was and how much it meant to him and his family.

That's me on the right, and Cliff Powers on the left... and of course Larry Power, his dad, in the year book.

I appreciate the honorable mention, but I wished this post stayed in the Today's Finds forum. Not many members see it here...

That's his son for sure. It looks just like him. Great job you!
I get a good feeling about this one. Like you said, he's genuine. He wont be selling it.
I have one from '46 but there's no school name on it.
I must say that '55 is a very cool looking ring.

My hats off to ya partner.... You sure did a good thing... and thanks for not giving up. We all know something like this doesn't happen everyday... Brad

Excellent work. Glad it was a great experience for you. I've had some ring returns over the years that weren't that great of an experience for me. But I've had others that tugged at my heartstrings. Thanks for doing the right thing.

All the Best,

Buck

That is one great story and return ! Congrats
Glen

What a great story! You made their day!

It is much better to feel good about making their day than keeping it and always wondering.

AWESOME!!!!!!! that is the greatest feeling in the world, great job. That is what it is all about

Love this! Found a wedding band recently with date and initials inscribed. It was in a the garden of a house that hasn't been lived in in over 20 yrs. Having the worst time trying to locate the owner. Hope I have your success!
