1952 Quarter From The Woods - Not What I Had In Mind, But I'll Take It
At first I wasn't too excited when the good signal I got was reading quarter at two inches. I figured, since its pretty shallow, if it is in fact a quarter, it's probably a Washington. But after I pulled a large plug, and the target was deeper in the hole and still reading quarter, I was hoping I had me a Barber or even a Seated Liberty. Looking into the hole, I could barely make out a disk covered in dirt. I reach down for it and at this point I know it's a quarter but I have to wipe away the dirt to see which design it is. So I slowly wipe the dirt off, and was a bit disappointed when I saw it was a Washington, since this site has produced 18th and 19th century coins. As a matter of fact, this is the newest silver coin I've found there. I wasn't going to post any pictures, since we all know what a 1952 Washington quarter looks like, but what the heck, here they are.
