.280 British - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

after reading the headstamp it read:
50 (1950)
RG (Radway Green)
7 (7mm)

just wondering if anyone's seen anything like this before and if it is what I think it is. the pictures in the wikipedia link look nothing like what I have. The bullet was found about a foot underground.

only price I found was $395 per round on an ammunition surplus website. not sure if mine would still fire after potentially being underground for 50 years+ but I'm more interested in historical value.

Wikipedia says the .280 is a rimless cartridge. That's not what you have. I agree it's made by RG though. I have some RG 7.62 NATO ammo from the 80s. Take accurate measurements and post them here. It has the look of a British .303 round which is VERY common. I just sold 500rds of old surplus for $100
