THIS PAST WEEKEND I WENT TOU A FEMALE FRIENDS HOUSE AND SEARCHED HER LAWN AND BUSH..HA HA.THE NEAT THING ABOUT IT WAS,I TOLD HER I WAS GOING TO FIND A SILVER DIME.SHE THEN SAID,"YOU BETTER FIND SOME JEWELERY."AFTER FINDING A HANDFULL OF WHEATS(INCLUDING A 1914&1917)I FOUND A SILVER DIME.WE WERE BOTH EXCITED TO SEE THE SILVER DIME IN ALL THAT DARK SOIL.I FIRST LOOKED AND NOTICED IT WAS ONLY A ROO :D SEVELT AND TOSSED IT TO HER.SHE SAID IT WAS A 1946 AND THAT A CLEAN HOLE WAS DRILLED THROUGH IT.I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A COOL STORY AND WANTED TO SHARE IT.GOOD LUCK TO ALL...SILVERHOUND

I know it happens, but why would anyone bother to drill a hole in a Roosevelt dime? A Mercury or Barber, yes, but a Roosevelt? Who would want to wear one of those? I don't get it...

YEAH,I THOUGHT THE SAME.WHY A ROOSEVELT DIME?IVE NEVER FOUND A COIN WITH A HOLE DRILLED IN IT,AT FIRST I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS JUST THAT,A HOLE DRILLED THROUGH A COIN.THE POSISTION AF THE HOLE ON THE COIN TOLD ME IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN WORN AS A CHARM.THE HOLE IS ABOVE ROOSEVELTS HEAD.STILL A COOL FIND, BUT WHY?THANKS FOR THE REPLY...SILVERHOUND
