1943D

I found a 1943D silver Lincoln wheat one cent in a baggy of little item's my mother gave me years ago. Are these worth anything? I know nothing about coins. I was searching the internet & found this sight.

Not Silver, "Steel" you can prove it with a Magnet.

Hi, Kris... glad to have you with us! I think you're going to like it here.

Jeff's right! The 1943-D cent is almost certainly not silver. In 1943, to free up more copper for wartime uses, the U.S. Mints struck zinc-plated steel cents instead. On the remote chance that it might be an error coin struck on a silver planchet, it wouldn't hurt do the magnet test anyway, but I'll bet it's steel. Here's a link to more information:
