1943 Epiphone Zenith

Epiphone Zenith models were made from 1931-1969-an acoustic archtop, bound front and back, sunburst finish with F holes. The models made 1936-1949 had a 16 3/8" large body, and are valued at $900-$1100 depending on condition.
Was the USN under the clearcoat put on by the factory,or later added by your father? That would affect the price.
Did your father play with the USN Orchestra during WWII?If you have provence, that would increase the guitars value.

Just saw where some answered my question. The USN is under the clear coat he actually find it at the Norfolk Naval yard junkyard. A local appraiser gave an insurance value of $5300. He offered me $4700 for it, it has a natural spruce arch top with curly maple sides and back with the original keys still in place.
