1942 niclke no mintmark is it silver?)

There are four different 1942 nickels (without errors)
1942 (without mint mark) minted in Philly - cupronickel
1942D (small D to the right of Monticello) - cupronickel
1942P (large P over Monticello) 35% silver
1942S (large S over Monticello) 35% silver

I was just reading about Henning counterfeit nickels. 1939 to 1945. He forgot to add the mint mark. They are valuable

Someone here found one of those recently, I forget who it was but maybe someone else can find the thread. It would be really cool to find one of those.

I hate it when I find a 1942 nickel and get all excited then I flip it over and there is no big mint mark. I compare it to finding a canadian clad dime searching dime rolls by the rims.

Have to agree I hate both of those feelings.

Thread was called "Another Milestone: Henning Nickel" That would be cool to find one.

I found a counterfeit war nickel (1944P) earlier this year. I thought I posted a thread on it, but I can't find it anywhere.
