1941 S Walking Liberty Half, What's the W Mean?

I was looking at the '41 walking half I found last summer (eyeball find in a flower bed) and noticed that on one side of the words "Half Dollar" it has the S mint mark and on the other side is a W. Any idea what the W means, or is that normal?

Thanks!

Okay, found this online: "The letter you see under the tip of the wing feathers is a monogram (AAW with the AA superimposed on the W) for the medalist design artist A. A. Weinman."

I'd never seen a W on a coin before so was curious. Sorry if it's been asked and answered to death.

the blackbook for coins has a ton of info in it. not only prices but neat stuff as far as the designer, mintage, and stuff. its a cheap investment. I look at it on a daily basis. don't know if it's accurate on prices or not but for me its great.
