I picked up this frame of relics from the grandson of the person named on the frame. It had been passed down to him, and he was doing some serious downsizing. I also picked up a 5 gallon bucket of full of hardstone which included a few full groove axes, pestles and celts.

This is the only relic frame I have obtained which I have not taken apart. I think over the last 15 years I have obtained 6 frames of points, all copper wired to the board. This frame hands down is the nicest I have seen or obtained.

Robert E. Foster Born 21 Jun 1915, died 5 April 1991 Bartholomew Co, Indiana.

Made for Robert Foster
He's a Great Fellow for such thing.

That's a great frame and I myself would keep it as is! Bartholomew Co (which I'm 5 miles from) is well known for awesome relics. The city of Columbus is practically an island, sandy soil with water everywhere. If anyone knows of Horsefly Bush collection you'll know what I'm talking about. Good job Dognose!!!

A lot of time, work, and pride went in to collecting these points, and creating this display. It looks great. If it were me, I'd leave it as is. Both the relics and this display compliment one another. Just my point of view. This is a very nice collection and display that most every collector would be proud to own. You Did Good!

Nice; I never understood why some of the old timers set up frames with wire.
My great grandparents glued all their points to styrofoam squares with white glue. They had hundreds of those 'frames' in their house. It looked better than wire I suppose.

Hey dognose, you being a collector have you ever had a chance to get anything out of Horsefly's collection?

It's certainly a highly creative display, that certainly would of earned a spot on the wall.

Thinking back when I first saw wired points as that on a display I questioned it and aesthetics of the display.

I was given the simple answer sternly by an elder "You don't want to be glueing anything to anything just to make it look pretty"
Strange how that has stuck with me all my life.

WISE WORDS there!!!!

I'm thankful for cases nowadays because I still like to pull mine out and play with them. Hard to do being glued or wired.

I like the Thebes very top left. As far as the wire, I wouldn’t do a new display that way but since it’s already done I wouldn’t worry too much.
