This is not exactly a "today's" find because I found this quite a while ago but did not know where else to put it. If it needs to get moved that is fine. So, I found this on the edge of what used to be an old road. I had just been going on a walk when I found it and I saw it on the side and was going to get it to throw away but when I turned it over I saw this! The other sides and top are test but at least the ground is still good look and has a readable date on it. image.jpgimage.jpg

Maybe try a spot with some Blackstrap molasses to take the rust off, leave it on for a period of time though. I've seen some amazing results on tin lanterns and other pieces.
 

I would leave it alone and display it the way you found it. Almost anything you do to it could lead to more paint loss.

That is what I plan to do. The only thing that I have done too it so far is very lightly remove some of the the dirt with a toothbrush.
