Three hour hunt in field I was in last Thursday. It was a nice day with the two farmers stopping by (brothers) they are nice people. The conversation with the one brother was funny. He asked me if I knew the lady who had been hunting there the few years before me. I told him no but the two days that I have been there I managed to find a few coins she missed. I dug allot of targets that were very small. Turns out they were primers and .22 casings. I have some exploring to do, might end up in a cow pasture inside with the cows, ha lol. Oldjerseygirl and I found a spot yesterday where she got an old bullet, seems like a union three ringer.
Enjoy the pix

Fields are a little different than nicely mowed lawns, aren't they? I like dragging the bigger shovel behind me and not even having to use the pin pointer. Just grab a clod of dirt and wave it in front of the coil, breaking it into 2 pieces till you see what you've found. High tones really get your attention too after walking an hour or 2 with nothing but iron grunts.

The pic with the tree in the foreground was basically where I was the entire three hours, there is a huge iron patch there. The two brothers stopped at separate times, the older brother was telling me about where the old house was when he was a kid and how they burned it down to get rid of it. The other brother has a daughter who lives way to the left of that tree in a 1740's house that I did hit a few times this summer (old plated silver button) That is the house that has the blue/grey ballast brick in it from some of the ships that got permanently dry docked. I read about that at the "Hancock house" that has the Swedish style blue brick patterns in it also. The old map that shows this "field house" also shows three more in the brothers cow pasture. The older brother and I had a few laughs about detecting in there with the cows, he's telling me they won't bother me. Somehow I picture the two of em in the barn with binoculars laughing there arses off, lol. Maybe I can send Oldjerseygirl in there to do some reconnaissance. Haaaaaaaaaaaaa, lol
The other day when we found the Indian Head Cents, I found a button that I didn't realize was one. I'm going to get a couple pix and post it.

I say send in Vino without his detector! You know how he sweet talks his permissions. You should be fine with the cows, Brad. Just watch where you step!

Nice finds bud. You'll zone in on the hotspot and find that honey hole. There's one on most sites. Just a matter of finding it

Ha, he don't like bluegills, I don't see him dealing with cows!, lol

I'm afraid I'm just picking up scraps from this one bud, the brother didn't remember the other three houses, looks like its me and the cows. Maybe I'll go in the rain tomorrow. Cows lie down in the rain, right? I'll use the CTX 3030, it goes deeper in the patties I hear?

Uhm Brad....don't be a coin licker with the cows, OK?

Here is a better pic.

Nice looking little button. Wonder if that type has a name?

Nice assortment of finds my man.

Don't be afraid of those cows. You can easily outsmart them by using a little camouflage.
