The difference between an uncirculated and a very fine(which yours may be) 1934a series from Boston is substantial,$40.00 versus $15.00,so while it doesn't kill the value totally,it sure helps when the condition is clean crisp and uncirculated.Nice notes.

I have one of theese 1934 ten dollar bills also,I recieved it as payment for a job in my shop yesterday. It does NOT have an A next to the date though. Is it worth hanging on to ?

I wouldn't get rid of it. They are getting harder to come by and should only go up in value as time goes by. The "A" is just the series letter for that year. A little side note- The green Treasury seal on this note is known by a light and dark color. The light color green usually brings 15-20% more than the dark green seal. The light green is sometimes referred to as a "lime green".

Here is a light green seal example-

The one I have is a lime green example,I believe I'll hang onto it...

Not really that I know of anyway, unless it's a rare note then you can check the archives at Heritage auction galleries. I generally check the Ebay completed listings for what has sold recently. I also have a copy of the Blackbook which lists prices for U.S. currency. It looks like this-http://www.jakesmp.net/CSD_Books/CSD_Bks_006_M.html
