Detector(s) used
White 5000/D CoinMaster GEB/TR Disc.
Mona Lisa said I should post here so here goes....
Hello all, I am new here but have been MDing for over 30 years. What you see is from an old Sears 28.95 plain Jane detector, no bells and whistles and very hard to tune or keep in tune. Friend gave me a White's 5000/D Geb CoinMaster with Disc.. and still learning how to use it and tune it in for Max finds. Would like to know if anyone has seen this Ford coin or medalion Front says Ford 1903 --1933 Back has a V8 sign with a picture of a 1933-34 grill and Thirty Years of Progress. You can still read Ford and V8 on the radiator cap in very small letters, had to use my loop to see them. Ther are some wheaties and indian heads in the mix along with artifacts etc square nails, old coin purse, 32/40 shell case and an eagle brouch with 13 stars in silver and would like to know what it is all so? plus quarters nickels dimes half dollars and a silver dollar along with odds and ends of stuff. Thanks much and sure enjoy reading all the post. Just recovering from open heart surgery at 70 years of age and getting out and walking is great. Looking forward to finding much more STUFF. It has been 20 years at least since I really got out and did any MDing so this should be lots of fun. My other hobbies is the 1930 Model A roadster you see on the Left. 1984 Chevy 305 with tripower and a Turbo350 auto trans, Dodge Aspen read end and lots of other parts. Enjoy
Thanks Again for any help ahead of of time

The Ford piece is the so-called "Ford dollar" issued in 1933, in celebration of Ford's 30th anniversary, and in conjunction with the Century of Progress Exposition (world's fair) held in Chicago in 1933-34. A different style was struck for 1934.

Very nice finds :)

PBK, you seem to come up with the answers most of the time. What is your reference and is that token worth any thing. What about the Eagle Pin, any Info there ??

Probably the definitive reference for the '33 Ford piece is Hibler & Kappen's So-called Dollars, which lists it as HK#465 on p. 68.

Values range from around $7-12 in average condition, up to $35-40+ for choice examples.

The eagle appears to be a U.S. Air Force enlisted cap badge.

The el-cheapo machines can and do find objects in the ground. As I have learned there is no substitute for an ever increasingly better machine. HOOOOOOWever, as long as it beeps and you are willing to dig anything the finds will come to you. My detector lies to me religiously. It's either that or it is not as smart as it thinks it is. I think you have a great pile of stuff. I have 150 dollar BH 3300 and it hasn't found one stinking walker or kennedy. I must up-grade. Best of luck to you. Please post some more of those finds.

The nice thing about a 30+ year career is that many of the objects you found then, that were just a little old or even really old, are now a whooooole older and in better shape than they would be if dug up now. Good luck on that new machine.

Nice finds you got there. That Ford token looks very familiar. I dug this one a couple years ago.
Good Luck, Mike in NJ

Yes I think it is but I have not tried to clean it up at all. It has a treaded thumb screw on the back to hold it in place on a hat or what ever. Someone said it was US Airforce ??

Super Duper finds. You did good by listening to Mona Lisa. She is one heck of a great person (in my honest opinion). I love the Walker that you found. She sure is a beauty. Keep up the great work.

Oh yeah ~ them's some super nice finds!

I myself found one of those 1933 Ford So-Called dollars just a couple week ago. Funny thing, just last Xmas I bought one of these for a co-worker friend ~ he collects FORD stuff ~ I paid $25 for it at a coin show.

Great collection of coins and especially like the Ford Token. I found one this year that say's 100 years of Ford on it. It really is a neat find. I too work for Ford so I really liked this token.

Again thanks for posting your finds and thanks for the great pictures, also welcome to the forum.

I see that Ford coin for sale at a lot of shows. PBK hit it with the value. I've seen them as low as $5 and as high as $50 (displayed in the "special" glass cases some vendors use for their "gold").

*** OFF TOPIC *** Nice ride. Mine is a '31 Coupe, 283 .090 over, Isky cam, about 11:1, Muncie close-ratio 4-speed. I'm in the process of putting a Hilborn first gen FI on it (taking off the standard 1x4bbl). Here is a pic over on FordBarn my dad posted.
