Nice coin! I'm thinking post mint damage. Looks like the obverse rim has something going in too in the same area

That's a pretty coin...
But I gotta express my concern over the mintmark. Is there any chance it has been added? The S looks a little wonky to me. I hope I am wrong, but also, I am not an expert. If you have a trusted local coin shop, perhaps they could take a looksy at it.

It looks like the damage is raised up in the strike area so I would have to say post mint. I do not see anything wonky with the mint mark. All 32 s quarters look like they are pasted on.
