For series 1929, National Bank Notes were issued from each 12 of the federal reserve banks as well as thousands of private banks, each with a different charter number. Your note's charter number is 13044 as seen in bold black numbers on each side and to the side of the serial number. The name of the bank it was issued from is on the left side of the note were the Federal Reserve Seal is normally located on Federal Reserve Notes. There is an exhausting book on these, listing every bank that issued these notes, but I'm not sure what the book's title is. Try searching 'National Bank Notes book' or something to that effect on Ebay and you might turn something up. Hope this info helps.

ah an old "gold" standard note pre 1933 --- rare most of therm were turned in for gold or exchanged after gold became illegal to own when FDR outlawed "private ownership" of gold coins in 1933 to prevent "hoarding" -- switching to the silver standard instead -- that was done away with in 1964 --- the drop of the gold / silver standards is why US money today will not buy squat and its value is next to nothing on the world markets--

the bank of america as we know it today was a bank made from two banks which merged in 1929 before the stock market crash -- one of which (the bank of italy) was found in 1904 by an italian in san francisco ---it survived the massive san franciso earthquake in 1906 --the italian banker was one of the few folks willing to "invest" in the "rebuilding" of the area ---alot of big money "back east" bankers were leery of investing in the "quake" ravished area--- he did very very well and later merged with the bank of america using their name for the business and he ran the show until he died in 1949 --- the bank of america is today one of america's largest banks -- yah its THAT "Bank Of America" ---thats all over the place--- Ivan
