1926 S, Blank planchet and a Proof penny... PICS

From the last box of pennies I searched, I got:
1921 KG V in ugly green stuff (mentioned in the last post)
1926 S penny (4,55 millions mintage) Can anyone guess the approximate grade.
Blank penny planchet (looks legitimate, on the edge picture 1) 1971 Proof 2) Blank 3) 1971S 4) BU 1980 penny Canada)
1971 (my first proof penny)
Couple of wheats including one from the teens and a good pile of pre 1960 Canadian pennies

Thin box was amazing, about 40 rolls were consisting of pre 1992 pennies, with a lot of gems and BU pieces.

WOW, congrats on more awesome finds, I would guestimate that 1926-S wheat to be in VG8 to F12, based off of my redbook, I am by no means a professional grader.
The 1926-S wheat is a semi-key date with a mintage of only 4.45M, book valued at:
VG8: $8.00
F12: $10.00
You did quite well, a proof penny, a semi-key and a blank planchet.

Nice work. Back in September I found a 1926-S along with lots of other wheats ranging from 1909(sadly no VDB or S) through the 1930s as well as some nice king George Vs. I was able to fill quite a few dates in my folder. I have never found a blank planchet or a proof penny although I have found countless coins MS65(ish) that could have been taken from PL sets, but I am sure they have just never been circulated.
Hopefully the seniors keep cashing in the pennies while we can still pick them up.

A) Cash in all of their old pennies as they are "worthless" to them
or
B) keep their stash

most people won't be encouraged to even go to the bank and ask for a BOX of coins

That 26-s is in XF+, closer to AU. it's a $40-80 coin. I grade it that high cuz I have several PCGS graded cents in my collection. I have a '55 Dbl die cent in an AU50 holder that looks like it's equal. That is an awesome find from a box. Congrats!

I work in some Urban retirement communities on phone equipment and I was helping an office manager seperate her penny collection when an elderly gentleman walked in. He asked what we were doing and she told him I was teaching her about what pennies are good bad and so on... Well he was convinced that the pennies he has been collecting for 40 years were going to be worthless soon and told her she better cash hers in soon before they are discontinued. I am going back to offer to buy his two 5 gallon water jugs full of pennies he was going to trade in. Lets hope I get some gems for face.
