Can anyone give me their expertise on this peace dollar? I wonder if this is a mint error.

looks post mint damage to me....notice how it is beat and worn and scratched in more than one area....on both sides....

Looks like it may have been in a fire and partially melted.

check and see if it sticks to a magnet.. If it does .. it's a counterfit coin.. Most likely is...but who knows ... still a great coin.

Definitely not an error. Post mint damage. Coin appears to be genuine.
