Hi Im interested in finding location remains of 1920's roadhouses in Southern Illinois area, such as Charlie Birgers Shady Rest. Has area it was in been strip mined or not, can remains still be found?

I'm pretty sure the area has been strip mined where the Shady Rest was located it is now where "Little Egypt ATV" is. The attached picture is a marker that used to sit along Old Rt 13 at the Shady Rest location but due to vandalism it was moved to the Williamson County Historical Building (the site of the old Williamson County jail).
