Found this and a few other silvers detecting today, and since My sight is not that good .I just put it in the pouch thinking its a common 40's merc....When I got home, and looked threw a loope, and rinsed it off.....It looks like a beautiful double die high grade to me.....But nothing in the red or blue books leads me to beleive there is a 1920d DD....Please have a look, and give me your opinions if it is a DD,and what it would grade at.......Thank You.......H.H.

I would say it's at least MS-60.
I don't know much about error coins but maybe it's machine doubling?
I am not sure. It could be a doubled die.

It looks like machine doubling. Nice coin!

I agree on the machine doubling (not a true doubled die)... but its an awesome coin nonetheless! FB all the way, you don't see too many like that that were in circulation.

I agree on the machine doubling. There are some interesting die cracks on it as well. It probably was uncirculated when lost, but the hairline scratches really hurt it now. Great detail on it though.

Wow, hasn't anyone but me noticed the die crack running from 12 O'clock to about 6:30pm position on the obverse side? I have a few FSB's in my possesion that I have dug in the past....... BTW, Beautiful old lady there.........NGE
