Went out for a hunt in my local park yesterday. Dug several wheat pennies. Right at dark I got a good penny signal and dug a 1919 wheat. Covered the hole back and rechecked my hole. There was a quarter signal. Dug what I thought was a clad quarter. About 30 minutes later the lightbulb went of...why would a clad quarter be in the same hole as a wheat penny. Well went home and cleaned the finds up and to my surprise the quarter turned out to be a WW1 era US collar brass. At least that is what I believe it to be. Did I mention I got it all on video? Y'all watch the video and tell me if my Id is right. The wheat was a 1919 wheat. The US pin was in the same hole. That is why I figure it is from that time period. Hope y'all enjoy.!!

Sweet finds! Great video! :thumbsup:The holes on the collar brass used to be pins that took clutch back retainers. That one is a little older I think wit the dimpled front. My Dads like that were the smooth ones and was from the 1950's.

Well it is WW1 era. Found 2 pictures of the brass. It could be either one. An awesome relic recovery.

Wish the soil here was that dry, or at least a little dryer! You know Zaxfire, I found a US deal just like that about a year ago and just tossed it in the watsits container in the shed! I think I'm gonna go re-dig it out and have another look!! Thanks for the show!! :icon_thumright:

Your welcome Toby. Go get that out of the whatsits pile. That is a piece of history.

It's been a while! Thought what I had was like yours, but I think you've got me beat on coolness! Here's mine. Anybody know what mine is from? Would apreciate the 411! There a little bigger than a quarter.
