Hi! I am searching for some information.

I Purchased a lapel pin from an estate. It is marked:

"1918 FORD GAL-VA-NITE ARMY"

"Second Lieutenant"

"The GALVA KNIGHT"

It has a knight with a shield that reads: "GALVANITE ROOFING"

On its rear it is stamped by a famous jewelry maker: "HESS & CULBERTSON" "STERLING"

Do you have any Information about its history, company, or?

Thank You.[glow=red,2,300] :hello2:[/glow]

The medals were likely given away by the manufacturer as an award for using their product. The more you bought, the higher the rank would be on the medal. Giveaways like this are still common today, and depending on how much of a product a contractor uses, he can earn everything from a job site radio all the way up to a 2 week vacation package.
