I haven't been on here for long, but I hope by now those that have read my posts know that I believe that treasure can come in many shapes and forms and not always made of metal.

I found this year book in a pile of books and papers that I had won at an auction. It took a little researching because I have a hard enough time pronouncing the name on the front while sober. Eventually I found the college and it was then that I realized that I needed to get this back to them.

Wilson College was founded in 1869 as a college for women, one of the first in the United States. Sarah Wilson, for whom the College is named, provided the initial gift for the establishment of the College. She was the first living woman in the United States to endow a college for women. http://www.wilson.edu/index.aspx

Finally this morning as I checked my email, waiting for a MD buddy to show up, I got the email that they had received it:

James,
We got the book. Thank-you so much for sending it. We didn't have this edition and it means a lot to us now we have it. Thank-you again for sending it.

Papa,
To find such a book is amazing in itself, As an avid reader I know what it is to find a early edition of anything
even a yearbook cudo's to you for taking the time and efforts to track down the rightfull owers of such a book,
Banner in my book, (no pun intended) HH

Great story and your right, treasures come in many forms! Well done and sure should be an honorable mention :hello2:

OH, I'm sure those at the college were thrilled to receive that gift from you! Wouldn't it be interesting to know what became of those gals? What did they do with their knowledge? :icon_thumright:

WTG! Nana :)

That is very cool to be able to return history to a place of origin. Good deed done. Now the stars are lining up for you. HH

Thanks everyone. Just doing the right thing.
