I was rooting through the cash register drawer at work today, as usual, looking for any interesting coins. I spotted an extremely shiny coin. I picked it up and my heart jumped. A perfect, brand new looking 1914 Mercury dime. Then I turned it over....COPY!!! Darn it!!

Actually, that one is known as a Barber dime, named for the designer. Mercury dimes were first made in 1916. ePay is full of POSs like that, but it makes one wonder how it got "spent".

Probably was put in a customer wrapped dime roll and turned into a bank.

Ah, thanks for the info. I'm not too good on the coins.
And yes, I had just opened a roll of dimes and this shiny one popped out.

On a side not, I had opened a roll of pennies, about a year ago, and they were all Canadian.
Or, my favorite, a whole roll of dimes and eveyone was glued to the other. I was a little pissed on that one. Luckily the bank made good.

I would have cherished that glued roll of dimes. :tongue3:
