1909s vdb

I found a 1909 years ago that someone scratched an ugly S under the date, it wasn't even a vdb!

Check out WheatWaffles log.....he had five great cent boxes at the beginning of the year. No '09S VDB's but he found some '09 VDB's and/or IH's in each box.

I was just checking and in the last of those five boxes he found two VDB's and an IH in the same roll....and that was a mwr from a box. I'd say that would qualify as a dream roll lol.

As SilverFace said, my first five penny boxes of the year had 9 indian heads and 5 vdb's, and there was another 1909 that was so worn off I could not tell if it was a vdb. Those five boxes were dream boxes, and they were not customer wrapped, but five Garda boxes. Really wished for a "s" vdb, but I'm still looking.

Here's a pic

Only found 1 indian and 1 1909 VDB CRHing in my lifetime. I've been doing boxes almost every week for the past year, and before that I did about 20 boxes a year for 10 years.

I've found 3 '09 VDB & 2 '09 over the years, but the S mint '09 (VDB & plain) have remained elusive.

About 12-15 months ago, found a 1909-P VDB in extremely fine condition from a box. Only wished it was a "s" vdb.

It's been about 20 years or so ago but I found a 1864 L Indian head in AU condition while searching hand rolled bank rolls. A bonus is that it has a rotated reverse! Still has some mint luster.
