I wanted to get in one last hunt this year, but its been raining steady all day since early this morning. I loaded the detector in the truck and headed to a friends house where we hung out in the garage all afternoon. Finaly, I looked outside and the rain had stopped. Out I go! I worked around the front yard (which I've hit very hard over the last couple years) and dug this neat old thimble
Then ended up next door at an abandoned old house where I dug a walker half and a Canadian large cent last early spring. Dug a couple holes and got a couple nails, started getting dark and raining again so getting one last signal, decided it would be the last hole. Out popped a wheatie. I said cool and headed to the truck to put up the gear. With penny in hand I headed for the garage. Once inside I grabbed an old rag off the bench and wiped off the dirt and the first thing I saw was VDB. This is my first, and it felt great since it was my last hole dug in 2006. Its been a great year for me and my hobby and I've enjoyed every minute of being on Treasurenet.
Picture isn't very good, but look hard at the very bottom of the wheat and you can see the initials.
