Well......back to the old schoolyard that coughed up the 8 silver rosies yesterday to try my luck again. Today I scored a little clad....lots of wheaties...maybe 20 or so...and 5 more pieces of silver, 2 rosies 1952 and 1964, 2 mercury dimes, 1944 and 1945...and a sterling floral band. I was beginning to think I'd been cursed and would never find another ring. If it was a curse...it was lifted this afternoon.

All in all....It was a nice outing...even if it was a little chilly this morning...42 degrees F...brrrr.

Congrats on the silver and Wheats Wyatt! HH, Mike

No relics worthy of toting home. Interesting thing is that apparently the town had municipal access to fill from the Greensboro pottery works....where they made those blue and gray crocks. There are pieces of crockery all through this play lot. I even found a piece with a little blue on it.

Very nice digs, WTG!!!
Five pieces in one day, I see you had a day like the one I had... Congrats!
Good luck & Happy hunting~

Great coins, nice going!

I went back out for a couple more hours....here's the story. I told the wife I'd be back in time to take her to Wally World while it was still daylight....so after we eat, she decides we're not going to Wal Mart, but rather she'll take a nap. I figured....if you're sleepin'...I'm beepin'

So back to the schoolyard I went...for 2 more hours. I found 8 pennies (5 wheats) and a clad dime...and 3 more silver dimes. Tonight's trophies include another merc....a 1941, another 52 rosie and a 56.

I still think this place is not virgin territory. I thnk that somebody's machine ignores dimes and pennies...or else they just didn't want them. I'll take silver any way I can get it....even a dime at a time.

I'd have to go back t the 70's to remember a time when I picked up 16 pieces of silver in 2 days. I's been fun. I might have to try the 10 inch coil there and see if there's anything deeper than my standard 8 inch concentric loop can "see".

I keep hoping for an indian head or 2, or maybe a Barber dime....but none yet. None of todays 15 wheaties (actual count) were older than 1940...and there were 3 of those. Most were 42-46...and a few in the 50s.

Very nice Wyatt!!

;)

WOW!! Wyatt, you are kickin butt with that machine!! WTG!!

I think that's the most gratifying thing. To hear folks talk...mostly dealers and newbies sportin' fully digital windows based machines....they dismiss these older units as being inadequate.

Funny....when they were new...they were the best invention since the wheel. The new ones may have a little better depth, and so would this one if I would use GEB...these are TR finds. I find the GEB circuitry to chattery for my taste. I still like the old gal...she treats me well.

Moon.......South Carolina has silver dimes too man. You just have to find the right place. I'm sure you'll come across a honey hole in time. Just keep swingin' that thing, and trying new places.

Awesome finds....keep up the great work....HH
