1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard SweetSugardog! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - I am not sure it is a Dog Tag. I found a 1904 El Paso Dog Tax Tag that was a different configuration. Also - can't remember ever seeing a dog tag with two holes? Kind of looks like something you might see attached to a locker, etc.

3rd - I moved ya from WHAT'S IT WORTH? over over to WHAT IS IT? for more exposure.

My dog had a dog tag with two holes just like this one. I still have it around here someplace, but definitely, positively had two holes.

Yeah that is one of the oldest dog tags I've seen.

Great recovery!!!

The early dog tax/tags were riveted to the collars.
Yours definitely has all the signs of an old one, except the light wire key ring on it.
Very Cool find.
Congrats

Nice dog tag find. I also think it was riveted to a leather collar. I’m with HuntinDog on this one.
