I hit the 8 large cent site yesterday (which has actually produced 14 LCs, but 8 were found together at one time).
Here's a really nice 1901 Barber dime I found yesterday on the old road through the woods, which was a driveway to an old estate. I had been detecting for about three hours with only a couple of wheaties and a skeleton key to show for my effort. It was getting dark and I would have probably quit, but I had just gotten a good coin signal and it was a wheatie, so I kept going a little more. I went along the side of the road with the trusty Radio Shack (Bounty Hunter)...now paid off in clad finds alone...where the road slopes down and got a solid signal, and coin sized. Dig, dig,dig....there it is...I thought it was another wheatie because it was all covered and then I knocked away some dirt, bingo, saw that silver glint. Started calling Earthworks to tell him the good news. It's same year as the last Barber dime I found too. I had Earthworks photo both below because the one found yesterday is amazing compared to the earlier one. Check out the detail in comparison and it's easy to tell the better one on the right.
I've also included a photo of the road taken at an earlier date. You can see how it slopes down on the right and left all the way along the road. That's where it was found. Bergie
