Well I've been looking though my stuff again and found some coins worth posting. There not pretty but they will have to do. I found this cache some time ago maybe 15 years ago. I'm not real sure if its a cache or a pocket spill of a coin collection. I remember getting nice 90 reading from my at that time whites eagle II. I dug about 5 inches down to find a broken purse clasp, and Silver all over the place. I called over for my dad to enjoy the find. He ran the detector while I dug. The coins range from 1774 to 1879. Most of them are holed as if they were strung together while the others are just wornout.

I would probably have kept it because it formed part of the 'find', and could have given up some information relevant to the find.

Wow, that is a pretty sweet find! That would be exciting regardless of the condition of the coins. Thanks for sharing the story with us, I love hearing about such recoveries. Its also even cooler when you have someone with you to share the excitement with. 8)

Cool stuff. There is one coin that has been engraved. It had initials on it at one time. 2 pics above that is a seated coin with a blob at the top that looks like it may have had a pin attached. Are they different coins or the front and back of the same one

Sweet find- :icon_thumleft:

i bet all the coins were strung together with thread or a chain :dontknow: ???
