I am not much of a jewelry hunter, but I keep an ad on craigslist in the lost & found section. I got an email from someone who was trying to find an engagement ring that was thrown from the deck ??? . I didn't want to know, so I didn't ask. Well it took a few hours searching the large yard. I checked out a lot of questionable signals, but I knew immediately when I had it under the coil by the tone and the signagraph. The VDI on my DFX was steady at 10. needless to say they were both thrilled that I found it. It turns out that today is his birthday. I didn't want any money, but he insisted. He kept insisting, and I kept saying "no, it's your birthday". He wouldn't take no for an answer, and gave me $200!! Needless to say it made my day, too!

good stuff, thanks for sharing
I've seen a few MD ads for lost and found around South Jersey over the years.
Cool that it worked out!

Well I guess the engagement is on again................nice job....................

Very cool story....glad you got to find that for her. She probably won't be so quick to chunk it off the deck next time! >:( And your reward was even sweeter! Good job!
