Tuesday, I recovered a diamond solitaire ring and a Pandora bead.
The ring gave a very solid, quite low frequency signal on my excalibur 1000. I saw it when I dumped the sand out of my scoop for just a second and thought it was the ring portion of a broken tab, it had the bit of a projection at one end where the tail breaks off. It got reburied at first, and I wasn't going to pursue it. Bear in mind, the light wasn't that good by then. Then I thought, hey, that thing could have been a solitaire, so I recovered it, and so it was.
Next came the Pandora bead, which retails online for $50. The hammered gold disk, is actually plated sterling.
This is the best diamond I've found to date. I recently began targeting such rings, so I hope this is a mile marker on the way to the "Big One."
I feel I should mention Gary Drayton's blog. I've found it helpful for hunting in South Florida, imho.
