Hello all,,,
I was just wondering if someone could give me their opinion of the grade, and value of this coin...
I don't know much about grading coins, but according to my old book, I would say it grades at, "About Good".
I can't see any of the letters in Liberty on the head band, and the rim is worn pretty good on the reverse...
I notice that it has a fairly low mintage,( 874,000), and is considered a scarce coin in good condition...
Also, I could use some advice on the green stuff that is on it... Is their anything I could do, or should I just leave it alone...
I'm not sure if the green is corrosion, or just clay. The coin was part of my cache find and I think they may have had the coins separated with the clay... It looks more like dried clay to me, and on one of the other coins like it, it will pop off of the coin when pushing on it with a toothpick...
Any, and all opinions are welcome... Thanks
Good luck & Happy hunting~
