Found today, 5/5/10. Only coin on 4 hour hunt from a site that is thin but only produces oldies (at least by No. Ill standards).

nice dime. three eights in a row is cool. wonder if there will still be humans to use a coin with eight eights in a row...

Just curious, are you guys finding many S mint marks on silver coins out there in Illinois?

Of my early silver coinage this year, 2 of my 5 Barbers were S mint marks, 1 of my 2 seateds, then when we get to Mercs, I loose count, but I clearly remember at least 3 S's (out of 16 mercs) including a 1916s, of my 7 war nickels, at least 2 were S. Wheats -- I have no clue. So the S's have at least been coming up for me here in Illinois, even with my early dates. My other seated was a Carson City. I suppose living near to Chicago may have an effect of coins circulating up here from travelers and business people.
