The Eagle Valley (Tannery) Store was established by W. H. Osterhout (your signator) in 1871. it became, perhaps, the largest tannery in the US. There is plenty of history written about W. H. Osterhout. Such history, added to your sales 'pitch', should enhance the value of your store coupon.

Agree with Don,,,;looks like they are called "Bearer Notes" and there were some on EBay but the link is gone.

I've had these two localized currency from 1888 (not sure what there called) for an eagle valley store in Ridgway, PA. One for .50 and the other for .05 cents. Any information anyone can tell me about them would be great as well as the value of any they could possibly be.

Thanks
The currency you have is called "scrip," issued by the Eagle Valley Store in Ridgway, PA in 1888. Scrip was used in company towns and has no monetary value. Collectors may be interested in purchasing these notes as collectibles, and their value depends on rarity, condition, and historical significance. Consult a specialist for an accurate appraisal.
