Great find on the Nicaraguan 10 cents, I hadn't seen one before!

It's .800 silver :)

Very cool ten cent and other finds.

Great historic find !
The date, September 15, 1821 was an historic day for much of Central America; after almost three centuries of colonial rule, the nations of Guatemala, El Sal., Honduras,Cost Rica and Nicaragua claimed independence from Spain on that day.
Don.....

It appears your coin has travelled further than just up from Nicaragua, (if you found it in Texas.) The "H" mintmark (if I read it correctly) indicates it was struck at the Heaton mint in Birmingham, UK, and explains why it reads 10 cents instead of centavos. The British, although phasing out their control of the east side of Nicaragua in 1887, still minted the coin for that area, also known as the Mosquito Coast.

Thank you for sharing your hunt and those pictures with us

Cool looking coin, liking the design.
