Coming back from visiting my folks last Sunday, I drove through a very small town with the sidewalks and street pulled up. This is a different one from that I mentioned in an earlier post.
The street has new gravel poured for a pavement base. I stopped for an hour and wandered with my XLT where the sidewalks had been. There was a fine pea gravel which I believe was the old sidewalk base. I wasn't getting any hits there, but did get some finds where the grass had been pulled up between the sidewalk and curb area. Besides the IH, I got 1910, 1919s, and 1952 wheats.
I scraped the corrosion on the back of the IH with my finger nail and a piece flaked off, showing the copper color underneith. May get back there this weekend.
Been to three other spots and only got a 1910, and 1936 wheatie.
Thanks for looking.
