Hi all,
Did some research and found a new sight/field. There was some brick and a little pottery so I looked for the high points on the field. Pulled a few buttons and then got a monster signal 95/96 on the t2 in the middle of no where in this field. I dug a really big plug and called my buddy over. He scanned it and said that's an interesting signal ang broke the plug. When I saw this I thought it was an old can lid and he noticed the reeded edge. We cleaned it with some water on the field and found the date,1879. Yes it is in rough shape, but, what a surprise to find. Ended the day with a few more buttons.
Thanks for looking and HH.

Don

Those are some killer digs. :icon_thumleft:

Looks like damaged from a fire. Was there an old homestead? Bricks and pottery is always a good sign...

Yes, I think there was. I did see brick and a little pottery. Thanks for the info on the fire damage.

Hit the Easy-Bake-Oven, I guess! But a nice find. I'd like to find one of those every time I went out to hunt, especially since I've never found one.

fire damage for sure but still an outstanding find. congrats! :headbang: :headbang:

I'm sorry, but I never wear jewelery, no rings, no bling.
But I'd be putting that on a chain around my neck in a heartbeat.
There's a certain charm, nay irony that that piece shows.
It's a genuflection of my current detecting existence.
I'd wear it proudly!
And hey, at least it's not a key-date!
Carl

You could wear it and claim it got beat up in a bar fight.................

The dollar is a great find. No matter what the condition, its still silver!

I can't imagine the thrill from digging a morgan. That's +1 for metal detecting vs coin roll hunting

Awesome finds !
