It's a Masonic chapter membership token. The design imitates a Jewish shekel of Year 2 of Simon Maccabaeus.

The keystone is a familiar Masonic symbol, of course. H.T.W.S.S.T.K.S. is said to be the mark of the order's ancient Grand Master and to stand for, "Hiram The Widow's Son Sent To King Solomon."

The small space in the center of the circle is reserved for the member's own mark: initial(s), number, or some other personal symbol.

"R.A.C." represents Royal Arch Chapter. Many other Masonic tokens or chapter pennies have "R.A.M." for Royal Arch Mason.

The date 1877 commemorates the chartering of the named chapter. The token itself was likely issued somewhat later, and in fact such tokens are often presented individually over the years, as new members are added to the local chapter.
