Nice find. Start with warm water and a toothbrush. If further cleaning is necessary we then take a Q-tip dipped in amonia and do a gentle cleaning with it. Then soak in olive oil.

That's a good date to.

I'd give it a peroxide bath and lightly tooth pick it. Then lightly scrub with soap and water. Dry it and put in extra virgin olive oil.

Congrats on the great find.
I suggest listening to Bob on the coin cleaning. He can make clad quarters look like Morgan dollars. It's amazing. ;D

Still haven't found an "injun" yet jeric..Nice job.Going to be down in O.C. the week of the 21st of July,I'll let you know what's going on.....Congrat's

IMPORTANT

DO NOT CLEAN THAT COIN!

An 1872 IH Penny in G-4 Condition is worth $75. In VF-20 it is worth $280. Cleaning it with any solution will decrease the value tremendously.

Soak the coin in warm water and GENTLY brush it with a soft bristled tooth brush.

You may wish to have it appraised.

Congrats on the find!

I dunno, the potato method looks pretty good. Try it out on something else, though.

Congrats on the IH Jeric!!
