The 1872 Indian Head I found last month was suffering from the effects of fertilizers over the years, the one down side of hunting the farmers' fields. I tried the hot peroxide bath and I'm not sure it improved the coin. The only big difference I see is it's more black than green now.

As I finally decided to place it in my coin album today, I was caught by surprise. :o There in the 1872 slot was a nice looking Indian Head that I'd dug years ago. I would think it was not as valuable when I dug it, I think I probably would have remembered this one. It's a beauty. The latest 1872 I found will be trade stock.

Great find especially being an 1872. Congrats Hogge

That's a good problem to have--having so many semi-key-date I.H.es that you forget about some of 'em.

Congrats on the re-find!
