Got out with a buddy on Saturday. We hit a new area at first. He found a nice gold ring, but I got about 75 cents. We then tried a second place and found an IHC...just another regular ol' IHC it seemed. Then got a 1930 Merc. Also at this place got a vintage Ever Ready razor. This thing is no joke... weighs 71 grams - 2.5 ounces! You must have had some serious muscles to shave with that thing. Looks to be 1920s maybe?

Got the IHC home and thought a 72 was showing at the end. Got it under magnification and it was! 1872! Now of course in this condition it's a "filler-quality" coin. But it replaces an 1872 that was stolen before too. Nice to have another stolen detector find replaced (makes the 2nd this year after a 3cent silver popped out). HH all! P.S., I don't get the feeling that "musketball" is all that old.

Sweet coins. Those old razors kind of scare me!! :laughing7: Way to go.

Nice finds. I really like Mercs and IHCs. GL&HH!

NICE SAVES!

I actually found a similar razor with the metal box that it came in, there is a place for the razor blades. I actually had visions of using it and sorta did but it was pretty scarey and i quickly chickened out. I gave it to my daughter, I had found it in the old dump site of my grand parents. i guess it was some sort of an improvement over the straight razor at the time but you still had to be careful. I use the old style razor with the twist handle to open up for the blades even now, it was my very late father-n-laws, works great! great finds

Nice finds! Congrats!

Congrats on the 1872 Indian Head. One of the scarce ones. Still has some value even in that condition.

Thanks! It sure beats another bottle cap. Looked like it was higher condition when lost, but now, due to verdigris and just an overall granularity, value is hurt a bit.
