1864 skirmish finds "Spencer" cases and dropped bullets also

These items were my first civil war items which came after several months of research. I also don't know what that mystery piece is. Any info would be appreciated. I found these two pieces on a battlefield where I found several Spencer cases and dropped Spencer bullets. The pieces were pretty close together and I searched the area well but was unable to find anything else. In the first picture you will see the items in the upper left corner along with the other items I found that day. The two pieces don't fit together but both have a matching pattern of raised flowers. One lady that is in to horses told me that she thinks it was some sort of saddle decoration. I was thinking pistol flask pieces when I dug it but I am just not sure. I am a newb to the forum but you guys are always helpful.
