Had about four hours or so to spare this evening. Didn't find anything to write home about but I caught a 1864 indian that's not in too bad of shape, flat button, lantern piece, couple harness buckles, and what looks like a beat up cosmetic case of some kind? Well if it wasn't beat up before it is now:laughing7:. I tore it apart hoping it might have been holding some coins, but couldn't get so lucky. Nothing very special but had a enjoyable evening. HH everyone, Gl. 006.JPG026.JPG003.JPG022.JPG010.JPG008.JPG016.JPG021.JPG021.JPG023.JPG029.JPG

Nice assortment of coin and relics! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Was looking for the L on your 1864 IH. Not seeing it but still a nice early IH recovery. I do the same thing with the makeup compacts when I find them... haven't found any filled with coins yet either.... maybe someday.

Nice early ih bud. You are consistent with pulling some nice keepers. Should be a very good year

Nice hunt Joe. Great 4 hours of therapy. [emoji106]

Nice solid group of relics. I believe that eye with a stem is a reign guide.

Beauty hunt!

is that indian a fatty? i found a 64 and its a skinny

Another very good hunt DI2. I used to find those cosmetic cases often too, but never got anything from them other than nasty clumps of 40 year old powder:icon_scratch:.

Hey. did you look for an L in the ribbon on that 1864 Indian head penny?

I put it under the loop. If it is there it isn't legible. Would have been sweet if it was.

Thanks Ahab. Catch a few things every once in awhile but of course not as much as I would like, lol.

Thanks Joe. Therapy it is too. Always seem to feel rejuvenated after a good hunt, not to mention the work out from all the trash and slaw: And man this place is loaded with it too.

thanks, I wasn't sure about that piece but I think you are right. All the ones in the books in stuff are always brass, but don't see any reason why they wouldn't be made of steel too.

Thanks OD, never have lucked out with anything nice in them either, always just a nice old clod of dirt. The mystery of what might be inside is always exciting anyway.

Nice hunt DI2 & looks like a bent knapsack triangle hook on the left. WTG, Q.
Hey Q. I forgot to mention that one. this place I am hunting was visited by both sides of the war but doesn't seem like they left much behind? Mostly been finding civilian stuff at this place.
