Usually I don't post unless I find something interesting, and this definitely counts. It's an 1864 2 Cent Piece, Large Motto variety. I was having a lackluster day prior to finding this, and it rang up as a bottle cap. I wasn't too keen on digging it at first, and I actually got two or three paces away before I had a change of heart and came back for it. Obviously I'm glad I did.

It's in excellent shape, possibly up to AU50 grade aside from the fact that it is a dug coin and that I scuffed up the edge a bit. Even so, I never imagined that I'd ever find one of these, let alone in this shape. Thanks for taking a look!

The detail on that is unbelievable ! Congrats! You got how many feet way and came back to dig it! That was a close call!

Awesome find. Congrats.:hello:

Thats awesome! Is it just me or why does it have a silver/nickel looking color?

That's a beauty, cool!

Beautiful coin. You can be proud you found that one.

That is why I did all signals I have had gold rings ring up like foil so you never know what is there until you dig it up. very sweet find would love to have that one in my collecttion.

It's just the lighting. It's actually quite evenly green. It has a nice verdigris patina.

Thanks for the replies everyone. This was definitely a once in a lifetime sort of find for me.
